Moving steadily towards independence: These playground classics are of great pedagogical value, helping little ones to know themselves better, understand their limitations, and gradually expand these. To start off, Mum and Dad are still needed for them to feel safe as they make the climb up and then slide back down, but gradually, they feel more secure, and enjoy their fast downward slides.
